The Willow

The Willow is the fourth month of the Celtic calendar. Imbolc occurs during
Willow month. The Willow represents the female and lunar rhythms of life.
The willow makes her home around swamps and streams. Water being governed by
the moon means that by extension the moon influences the Willow. The willow
offers protection against damp diseases. The Willow has been used for many
medicinal purposes that deal with the damp. The Willow also represents the
female gift of fertility. The Willow indicates female and earthly cycles,
rhythms and the ebb and flux. because of the Willow's lunar connections, the
Willow brings seer abilities through dreams and night visions. Brigit is
associated as well with the Willow.

The Willow is a water loving tree. The Willow can be found in the forest near
a stream. Her catkins, which appear in early spring before her leaves,
attract bees to start the cycle of pollination. The Willow is a deciduous
trees planted for the foliage, shade and screens.

Weeping Willow people are beautiful but full of melancholy, attractive, very
empathic, loves anything beautiful and tasteful, loves to travel, dreamer,
restless, capricious, honest, can be influenced but is not easy to live with,
demanding, good intuition, suffers in love but finds sometimes an anchoring
partner.
